Analysts are pretty sure that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie release date has come closer. Here we take a look at its important features
Talks over Google’s next Nexus phone, maybe Motorola XPhone or Nexus X are gaining more momentum. It is certain that Google will be launching the device with a fresh Android version, the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie that has been in rumors for a while. Earlier, when Nexus 4 was said to debut the KLP, but it got a new Jelly Bean version (Android 4.2). Now it is the right time to churn out speculations over the next Android version, which might be running the next Nexus phone. Here is all you should know about the Key Lime Pie.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie – Release Date: Google I/O is to take place in May. As per the company’s tradition, we have enough reason to expect the KLP at the event. Google launched Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at 2012’s I/O conference. So, most analysts have noted it down that the new Android version would be coming in May. Most likely, it will be deputing on the next Nexus phone, which is also rumored for release at the event.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie – Hardware: What we can say at the moment is that the next Nexus would be the first handset with the KLP. Often, Google introduces a fresh version of its mobile operating system through one of its own devices. We received the latest two versions – the Android 4.1 and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean – respectively on Nexus 7 tablet and Nexus 4 smartphone. The new Key Lime Pie may thus come to light on Nexus X, the rumored next version Nexus phone, likely to be manufactured by Google’s subsidiary Motorola.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie FeaturesOf course, every new edition of Android turns up with a range of fresh features. We can also expect something exciting with the next Android version. Google has not yet exposed to the world what new things the software would have. But, here are some features you can likely expect with Android 5.0 KLP.
A Guest Mode: The 4.2 JB brought multiple-user feature to Android. It opened a way for the mobile platform to look like Windows on a desktop PC. Users could set up separate account on a single device as it could be done on a PC. But, the next Android version, as per rumors it to have a guest mode, which will let guests access some parts of the device from the lock screen. “However, a guest mode – that prevents access to SMS, phone storage and anything besides what the owner deems appropriate without a password – would be fantastic,” says PhoneDog.com.
Lockscreen and Widgets: If you have Android 4.2 JB in your gadget, you can already enjoy lots of widgets on lock screen. With the update, Google has brought some home screen widgets to the lock screen. Now, the next Android version is to fetch more widgets to the standard lock screen. It seems that you can even access the camera app from the lock screen thanks to a simple right-to-left gesture from the right edge of the screen.
Shutter Speed Control in Camera App: Shutter speed control has not been possible in most Android devices. Apple iPhone and Lumia 920 have been doing well in this regard with their exclusive camera sensors. In case of Android, every company uses different sensors and so the shouter speed is mostly controlled through different drivers as well. This often leads to the slow shutter speed. With the Android 5.0, this issue can be solved, analysts say.
“It would be possible – at least from my understanding – for Google to develop a broad API for adjusting shutter speed within the camera application and third-party manufacturers could implement the feature at will,” says PhoneDog.Com. So, we can expect a facility for controlling shutter speed in the new Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie’s camera app. It will produce more nice images from the compatible devices.
